The
Down Side to our Club ?.
Our facilities are basic - we have no club house, no pontoons and our
moorings dry out at low water. We lack shelter from winter storms, and
boat owners must have somewhere to store their boats in winter.
The Positive Side to our Club ?
Our fees are very reasonable compared with neighbouring Marinas at Amble,
Blyth, River Tyne, Sunderland and Eyemouth.
Obviously we can not
match their facilities. However, we
do enjoy a spectacular coastline with castles on
the shoreline, golden beaches, and the fascination of the Farne Islands.
Local sea fishing is good, and the harbour provides a safe anchorage
during the season. The Moorings are overlooked and relatively safe from
crime, although members are advised not to store valuables on their craft.
Our members are friendly and we share responsibility
for keeping an eye on our moorings and the boats, as well as
looking after the safety of fellow members while on the water.
So how much does this all cost ?.
